Biography

About Gustavo Banegas

Currently, I am a Cryptography Researcher at the GRACE Team at INRIA in Saclay, France. Also, I am a professor at LiX (Ecole Polytechnique de Paris).

Previously, I was a senior cryptographer working at Qualcomm France in Sophia Antipolis, France. From November 2020 until August 2022, I was Post-Doc with Benjamin Smith at the GRACE Team at INRIA in France.

From November 2019 until November 2020, I was a Post-Doc Researcher at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden.

In mid-November 2019, I completed my PhD at Eindhoven University of Technology under the supervision of Tanja Lange and Daniel J. Bernstein. During my PhD, I was a fellow of ECRYPT-NET, an EU-financed project within the “Horizon 2020” program, thanks to one of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions. You can find my PhD Thesis: “Selected constructive and destructive approaches to post-quantum cryptography” at this link.

In October 2015, I defended my master’s thesis under the supervision of Ricardo Custódio and Daniel Panario.

In 2012, I completed my diploma in computer science at UFSC (Federal University of Santa Catarina) under the supervision of Ricardo Custódio.
